Samsung has announced it is developing a miniature version of its flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone called the Galaxy S4 Mini.
The Galaxy S4 Mini features a 4.3-inch screen and 1.7Ghz dual-core processor. It has an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.9-megapixel HD front-facing camera. There is 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.
This compares to the original S4 that has 5-inch screen, 1.9Ghz quad-core processor and a 13-megapixel camera.
The device will be available in black or white-coloured options and supports 4G LTE or 3G HSPA+ or 3G Dual SIM, depending on the market.
According to Samsung, the mini version will be presented at Samsung’s Premiere 2013 in London on June 20.
“We appreciate such unprecedented demands for the Galaxy S4 that we aimed to provide users with life companion for a fuller, richer and simpler life,” said JK Shin, CEO and president of IT & mobile communication division at Samsung. “And now, we want to give people more choices with GALAXY S4 mini, similar look & feel of Galaxy S4 for more compact and practical usages.”
Samsung is yet to announce a price or release date for the Galaxy S4 Mini.
