Vodafone launched its 4G network in selected metropolitan areas of Australia and claims it can reach speed of up to 100Mbps.
Competitors such as Telstra are currently providing 4G networks at a speed of 2-40Mps. Vodafone’s 3G network has a speed of 1Mbps.
The 4G network is running on the 1800MHz band frequency which Vodafone believes will position it above its competitors.
“We have rebuilt our 3G network and rolled out a brand-new 3G+ network and today we’re offering a leading-edge 4G network to customers on the best value plans in the market,” claims Bill Morrow, CEO of Vodafone.
The wide-band 4G network will be launched in selected metropolitan areas of Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle and Wollongong.
