Yahoo has recently announced that on July 15 it will be resetting Yahoo! IDs that have been inactive for over 12 months.
The free email service launched in 1997. Digital analytics company, comScore, conducted an analysis in October 2012 regarding email providers used worldwide and showed Yahoo! Mail has 281 million users internationally.
Yahoo claims that by resetting email addresses people will have the chance to choose the name they want.
In mid August, users who have claimed certain IDs will find out what they got.
Those who already have a Yahoo! ID and wants to keep it need to log in before July 15.
