Dubai schools to have AI-qualified teachers in artificial intelligence.

Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced on Wednesday the launch of an AI training programme for Dubai teachers.

The AI Retreat will award Dh1 million to the top 10 teachers that successfully integrate AI in their teaching practices.

On Wednesday, it was announced that all teachers in Dubai would be trained in Artificial Intelligence.

The announcement was made by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He is Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan stated that the initiative aims to provide teachers with knowledge and vision in order to foster a new generation of learners capable of making the most out of technological advances, including AI.

The initiative, which is overseen by Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge and Human Development Authority in collaboration with DUB.AI (Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence), aligns itself with the recently released Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence.

The top ten educators who successfully demonstrate the most innovative approach in adapting AI technology to enhance educational outcomes, will be recognized with awards totalling Dh1million during the next AI Retreat on April 29, 2025.

Empowering Teachers

Sheikh Hamdan stated: “The goal of this initiative to empower our educators with AI skills in order to enhance their professional abilities and enrich the education experience of our children.” This initiative is a testament to our commitment to the future and innovation in education. It also demonstrates our commitment to preparing the next generation for the future.

“We will work in accordance with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision for Dubai’s future. He believes in being prepared for whatever the future may bring, and he is committed to ensuring that the best possible future for our country.”

Sheikh Hamdan stated: “We aim to make Dubai’s educational institutions the best in the world when it comes to leveraging AI. Teachers are at the core of the nation’s development and progress. They are also key to realising Dubai’s vision for the Future.

He said that in the next few years, education will undergo radical changes as new technologies and learning environments based upon augmented and virtual realities are introduced. Also, curricula updated with AI technology and new tools will be developed.

Teachers in Dubai will be trained to the highest standards on how to use advanced applications, integrate AI tools and automate tasks. The programme includes both online and practical training, as well as regular assessments. This will ensure that the best results are achieved and the long-term goals are met.

Sheikh Hamdan attended the AI Retreat at the Museum of the Future on Tuesday. He also visited AREA 2071 in the Emirates Towers. Over 2,500 industry leaders and decision-makers attended the event, along with around 50 CEOs from major technology companies.

The program is aligned with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, recently released (DUB.AI).

Our aim is to develop an educational system which provides our students with tools that are future-ready and an optimal learning environment, supported by AI technology. “Investing in Dubai’s future and present is investing in education.” said Sheikh Hamdan.

The Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) will supervise the programme in collaboration with Knowledge and Human Development Authority KHDA.
